£2.69999K for a 3090? WTF

They are just warming us all up to £3k cards soon.

With the sale of the RTX 3000 series and AMDs 6000 series selling faster than any one of these companies guessed (at the scalping rates) the next range wil now start at :-

4090 £2k-2.5k
4080 £1250
4070 £850


7900XT £1.5k-£1,750
7800XT £1k-£1099.99
7800 £800


and people said a few years back that there will never be a £1k gaming card . They are slowly preparing us now for £2k+ cards to be the norm.

I still have never spent more than £500 on a card. Absolutely refuse to.

I've got to be honest. I think its farcical that these major releases take place getting everyone excited and then 3 months later, hardly anyone has these cards and they are selling so much more than originally priced. For the love of gaming, we are talking about a graphics card to provide better graphics for us gamers, not CGI and rendering cards for use in studios... (and miners.....)

Me too.

Personally I thought caressing my tracker ball whilst wearing my Nintendo Power Glove was gaming nirvana but tinkling my mechanical keyboard with HOF gloves is a prospect that just sends shivers down my spine.

This is one of the many reasons I’ve decided to invest more in older hardware now. These prices are pure and utter insanity. The aesthetics of that card are truly horrendous to boot.

I can’t see how any sane person would be willing to buy one.

I think though I'm going to have to revise the budget down to £300.

My last card was £470 with a code I sold for £30 so cost to me £440 for a very well cooled brand new 2070 super that runs at 65-80c whilst gaming

GPU prices are nuts.

My first card purchased in 2005 cost all of £107.99.

All a graphics card is, is an add-on board with a graphics chip soldered on with crazy cooling. A motherboard with more items added on costs a 10th of the price, excluding the CPU, even with a CPU majority are cheaper.

I just looked at the asus prices close enough to £2000 for the strix 3090 and £1000 for strix 3080 and £800 for the Strix 3070

I can't see there being that many PC gamers left in a few years time with these stupid prices

I'm quite surprised these price increases haven't yet hit mobile phones, it's predicted to this year (push up phone rices by a lot)

Those listed prices are just in the realm of the ludicrous.

I was checking out the comments left on OCUK's twitter page and on trust pilot.
And it makes for some pretty horrific reading to be honest.
