I have a iPad Pro 10.5 inch and I've noted recently that if I press on the screen near the touch ID sensor, bottom left (I think) there's almost a crunching sound. There's no physical damage that I can see, but I have noted since getting it that the screen doesn't seem as responsive as it could do - likewise the TouchID sensor hasn't been as accurate as I was used to on my 6S.

I did try Apple, but didn't get much out of them so thought I'd explore an authorised repair centre. Assume they're all much of a muchness?

AASP's use the same documentation for establishing warranty coverage etc.
If you claim its down to a material failure and its out of warranty you can try a consumer law claim with the original place of purchase.
