This makes RE look like a masterpiece. These China funded movies are usually all shockingly bad.

Was it funded by the Chinese? I cant find anything related to that.

Anyway, never played any of the games but the movie was similar to the RE movie recipe. Take a game IP, take little bits of the premise of the game, add in movie action, big monsters and explosions, Mila Jovovitch and Paul WS Anderson, a poor script and bake for 30 mins.. :D

It was stupid but a bit of brain out fun. I didnt even realise it was Tony Jaa until about half way through.

I LIKED THIS FILM! Aside from the usual Tony Jaa bouncing around like a man on viagra antics, the monsters themselves looked superb thanks to TOHO and I actually enjoyed the film having never played any of the games. With Atmos sound, things went up a notch especially during the early scenes and I just enjoyed the popcorn romp throughout. There is just one wtf moment for me and that involved a cook of sorts.
