Got a good kettle last week from Aldi £20.
Has temp control and neat filling method which I've not seen before. The lid has a clear flap on top that you use to fill it so no need to lift the lid.

Ah screw it. Don’t buy one of these modern kettles that runs by electricity. You want a whistling kettle and a tin bath to go with it.

Put one of those on an induction hob and get a laser temperature gun connected to a switch that turns the hob off when it reaches 87 degrees.
Bonus points for using a gas hob and an electric cam and a microcontroller to physically turn this knob on the oven.
I assume the fill min/500 limit on the temp controlled kettles is because of the temp sensor accuracy and location,
and don't believe their temperature control will be that accurate for the complete body of water.

but, just ended up with Asda which award winner ~£13 , and turn off the kettle as it starts to boil, for instant coffee, needing sub 100c.

Haven't used a kettle in ages. I use the instant boil feature on our La Specialista.
For energy efficiancy, you're much better moving over to something like this.
The one posted a few posts back by mrk is a lot nicer looking, but out of stock.
