Hi guys. Can't get my system to boot with BAR enabled. Just get the VGA error light on my motherboard. Disabling BAR on motherboard let's PC boot fine.
I have an Inno 3080, which I've done the bios update to. And an Asus Z490 board running the latest (beta) bios.

https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z370-AORUS-Gaming-7-rev-10/support#support-dl-bios

I just checked gigabyte to see if they have Resizable BAR support for my Z370 motherboard yet and holy crap to my surprise they released F15b BIOS on 23 March 2021 to enabled Resizable BAR. :D

Will download F15b BIOS and update it now.

So now waiting for MSI to release VBIOS for my RTX 3080 Suprim X!

This is encouraging, wonder if Aorus will add a bios for their Z370 boards.
Edit, well well well, Aorus have a bios update for my Z370 for the Resizable BAR, nice.

You've disabled CSM in the BIOS?

Just done a bios update for the re-size bar on my MSi Z390M and it won't boot :(
Just done my Z390M. Had a slight oddity with the driver, but otherwise went OK.
  • Updated motherboard BIOS, reconfigured BIOS and enabled new PCIe feature
  • Installed 465.89 drivers
  • System Info shows Resizable BAR No (as expected)
  • Updated GPU firmware and rebooted
  • System Info no longer lists Resizable BAR at all (rather weird)
  • Re-ran GPU firmware tool which confirms update has applied OK
  • Re-installed 465.89 drivers
  • System Info now shows Resizable BAR Yes (nice)

I ended up trying to get it working but utter nightmare, and end of it all rebar wont work.

Updated drivers - no problem.
Flashed GPU - no problem.

Now the bios.

I backed up profile to usb stick, took pics of all screens, flashed bios, all settings lost and new bios doesnt detect saved profile so restore everything manually.
I then look for the rebar stuff, enabled above 4g decoding, but it didnt show, then disabled CSM and went back into bios.
After this CAM (asrocks version of REBAR), is showing as an option I enable it.

Then all hell breaks loose.

No video output. Bios is seemingly posting as fans rev up and down, num lock comes on and responds but no video output.
In addition if I dont try to go into bios and let the system boot it does indeed boot into windows, there is no video output but I was able to remote desktop into it from my laptop.

I then tried to get into bios again, when I believed I was in there I tried f9 enter f10 enter, which on an asrock bios should cmos defaults followed by save and exit but it didnt do anything. I also tried booting using igpu hdmi but no video signal.

In the end I had to power off, remove soundcard (as its directly above cmos reset pins), use screw driver on pins, and then power back up again to get access to the system with video output again, utter nightmare, as obviously if I try again the recovery process is the same long process again.

I believe this is a bios bug, there is no other explanation.

In addition to fuel this theory I believe my bios behaviour is abnormal, I noticed with CSM enabled, my bios is in 1080p and with it disabled its in 720p, if I google this behaviour apparently CSM off is supposed to be 1080p and CSM on is 720p as supposedly UEFI video card bios is needed for full resolution.

So I will be filing a bug report with asrock and hoping for the best. Any other ideas are welcome, but I followed what should be correct steps.

looks like bios is indeed broken, lots of reports.

Has anyone actually got this to work on the Z370 I7 8700k?
I have a bios update for my Aorus Z370 Gaming 5 motherboard but when I checked Gigabytes release page they only support 10th and 11th gen CPU's and they don't mention the Z370 board, yet they have released a bios update for my motherboard for the resizable bar lol.

defiantly eh :p

Checked whether your main drive is MBR or GPT? If you don’t have CSM enabled then it needs to be GPT otherwise it won’t show up in boot options.

Ohh. Silly auto-correct, I was on my phone.
I'll check it's GBT not MBR, thanks. Fortunately I can boot with iGPU if I remove power from the 3080, allowing me to change settings. I'd be screwed otherwise. It's all hardline plumbed in.
After that I will try resetting bios to default (I applied my saved profile straight away, without checking it booted). And then I'll try rolling back to the previous motherboard BIOS version. Which I thought I had flashed and supposedly supports rBAR, but I couldn't find the option.

Shame quite a few of us are having issues.

Yes I finally got it worked after 10 hours! It been nightmare last night tried to updated VBIOS from current V1.41 to V1.43 on MSI Live Update failed, restarted, logged in Windows 10 at 1024X768 with disabled RTX 3080 everytime I tried. Went to read thousands of posts on reddit and elsewhere, about 6 hours later I found RTX 3080 Suprim X posts had exactly same issue with silent BIOS, only Gaming BIOS worked. I shutdown PC and moved dual BIOS toggle to Gaming BIOS, powered on PC, ran MSI Live Update to scanned BIOS but surprised it used different BIOS V1.60, I downloaded latest V1.62, flashed was successful and PC restarted then Resizable Bar finally showed enabled in GPU-Z and Nvidia System Information.
