I don't know what is going on with this Intel CPU supply. The i9s 11900, 11900KF, and 11900F are readily available, but the 11900K can not be found anywhere? I have an Asus Z590 MB waiting for this CPU. Please don't tell me all the bots, scalpers, and miners are grabbing all these 11900K CPU's? It took me 6 months just to get hold of a RTX GPU, and that was sheer luck! Am I ever going to be able to complete my my PC upgrade? Is there such a big difference in the 11900KF and the 11900K?

Grab a 10900K - your board will support it.

Not sure if you've seen reviews/benchmarks, but there isn't allot to shout about.

But to answer your question, as pointed out by humbug, is that is just lacks onboard GPU and won't support quicksync.

I agree with these two, if its Intel you want you're better off with a 10900K, or even a cheaper 10850K (effectively exactly the same CPU) its faster than the 11900K.
Thanks, Yes, I have heard about the (Comet Lake) 10850K, that would do fine, and would be OK on a Z590 MB. However, it does not support M.2 Gen4 SSDs. which I plan to purchase after receiving the 11900K.

Any particular reason for Gen4 NVMe? it makes 0 difference to gaming, you only benefit from those speeds if you're scrubbing through video's you're editing or transferring files.

I'd highly recommend getting a pre-ordering in at OCUK or an alternative of your choice, though the bigger the retailer, the better.

The 11900K is likely far more popular then all of the other 11900 models as its the de-facto top tier intel chip of the new gen so its going to be the one thats sold out initially. All the enthusiasts have pre ordered it and anybody else who is looking to save a bit of money will be looking at the 11700k or 11600k leaving the other 11900 skews in a bit of a no-mans land where there isn't great demand for them, especially given the poor reviews.

I expect the 11900k's to come back in stock pretty quickly though, you might just have to wait a few weeks.

£365 for the 10850K, thats a stonking good deal, If you're looking for a new high end CPU right now at that price its the one to get, is PCIe Gen 4 really that important? i don't think it is.

If you don't care about the blue flashy box they normally come in then can be had even cheaper at £350 ( oem vs retail ) , brilliant Price/performance ratio coinciding the 11900K is approaching £600 and we all know how that stacks up :cry: I suppose PCIe Gen4 is a nice feature to have but doesn't seem to hold me back in any benchmarks :D

I'm tempted by an 10850k but I don't think my 140mm aio will coupe well with the heat output. I currently have a 10600k running 4.9 all core at 1.285v which is pretty much the upper limit of what I can run.

Seen it’s £365 for the 10850k or £381 for the 10900KF (retail boxed, OEM is a few quid cheaper for the 10850k)

What would you pick?
