Looking for an additional 2 sticks of Ram to match my existing 2/8gb

So I currently have two of these in my rig

And I'm looking to do a small upgrade to 32gb.

As these are no longer available, what is a like for like drop in or do I need to look at an alternative solution (like 2/16gb) and spend extra?

Whatever you drop in is going to resort to the higher timmings if not matched but there's a chance they won't play nice. Getting 16gb of teamgroup with tight timmings is gonna cost £ 170 unless you can find some on the bay.

£170 will get 32gb of 3600mhz memory with looser timmings ..

Choices.

I don't think my timings are that important, i don't do much gaming or anything.

but now I'm worried you are saying things might not play.
These seem to be slightly better timings so could be loosened a little but I know nothing really abut these things.

I would steer clear of Patriot. Just had an RMA ending after 28 days with OcUK informing me that Patriot never got back to them after they sent them the faulty RAM kit, and having to offer me a refund. Just match the timings and speeds to the slowest (or try overclocking) and I suspect you'll be fine, make sure they are also in their own channels, check your mb manual for channel setup, normally 1-3 and 2-4

Remember to set BIOS to default before adding the new RAM. Can avoid issues.

Turn off the XMP (is it SMP) settings and let them revert back to super slow? Then set them manually or use the XMP again?

TBh just sell them, and get a set of 16GB x2, it'll cost you the same if you pick up something like Crucial Ballistix 3200MHz, ~£130, and sell yours for £65-80

Choose "Default Settings", "Reset" or whatever it's called in the BIOS. Then save and exit. Switch off, drain PSU power. Add the new RAM. Start it up, try add XMP.

If there is a "Link" (or similar choice) option in BIOS, the new sticks in the secondary Dual Channels slots will copy the XMP settings for the old sticks in your primary Dual Channel slots. Just depends on how the motherboard does things. Yours may do it without fuss.
