Had for a few weeks now and love it, getting used to the 15" rather than the 17" and plays everything! Is there a way to unpin the dragon Centre and xbox app from the start bar everytime I unpin its back again at next start up

Perfect thanks, just noticed another small thing this morning, I changed to a lighter background and noticed it, I first thought it was a stuck pixel, beside death stranding, but I can click on it and expand it to a box but I can't get it to go away and no idea where it came from. Any ideas? Comes up and start up but I only have 2 programs enables in msconfig

That's a weird one, anything show up in task manager that might be the culprit?

Anything in the startup tab in task manager too that might give a clue?

Spose it can't hurt to run a virus check too? Maybe install malwarebytes if you haven't already and run that as well.

Finally maybe try running these commands and see if it throws up any errors? https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...ndows-10-365e0031-36b1-6031-f804-8fd86e0ef4ca

When I open the black box up and click task View on the task bar it's called MainWindow and I can close it from there but it reappears when I startup again.

Yeah no harm trying malwarebytes as well. I had bitdefender but just un installed to go with the windows own defender

Interesting, I'll try that. Just came across this as well

https://www.sevenforums.com/bsod-help-support/31727-mysterious-black-box.html

I was playing gta5 earlier

Pretty sure it's what I said as when I clicked on the task view button I had a window in there running called mainwindow as well :)

Here's another thread about it - https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?threads/voicecontrolengine-exe-is-showing-on-my-desktop.361244/

"You can remove it by ending the task in Task Manager. To permanently stop it from coming back, you need to disable its service. Open the Services app, then go to VoiceControl_Service. Right click on it and click Properties. In the General tab, change the Startup type to Disabled, and if the service is currently running, click the Stop button. Press OK and you shouldn't have to deal with it for any longer.

What I suspect it does, is recognize the "Hey Lucky" voice command that MSI Mystic Light in the Dragon Center optionally uses. I don't know why it forms a window, even when that voice command is disabled by default."

Oh quick tip, not sure if I've posted it already. But if you want a nice stand that fits the GE66 perfectly to raise the back and aid with airflow. This one is perfect.

Thats perfect, i have been resting mine on a corner of a book or box etc to raise it up as it definately made a difference, and that looks small enough to fit in the laptop bag too, got it coming tomorrow :)

Yeah it's super handy and folds away so it doesn't take up hardly any room.

In other news I recently flashed the 140W GE76 3070 vBIOS to the 3070 in my GE66 and am now hitting some crazy scores on Timespy :) Temps have barely risen at all (1-2 degrees at most) and during the Timespy run below the GPU never got over 60 degrees!

Took me all of 5 minutes. I followed this guide which although for an old GPU is still applicable to the 3070 - https://www.overclock.net/threads/easy-nvflash-guide-with-pictures-for-gtx-970-980.1523391/

Link to download nvflash - https://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-nvflash/

Here's a link to the vBIOS I flashed - https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/229426/229426

Obviously if you go ahead put a copy of nvflash and your existing vBIOS onto a USB stick just in case. Here's the original 3070 130W vBIOS - https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/229448/229448

The GE76 uses the same power brick as the GE66 so power supply shouldn't be an issue and like I said in my previous post the temps are still really low.
