The context for the dream is that you are a taxi driver?

I take your point, but no, I don’t think so, I did occasionally dream that I was driving an articulated truck, but using it as a taxi.
I would pick jobs up, and try in vain to drive down narrow London streets, eventually giving up, and apologising to the job in the back.

A taxi of colour?

A taxi of colour? That’s okay by me Reality, but you may be skating on thin ice with the cognoscenti

oh dear you seem to be one of the wanting to look from above peeps huh? :p
Are you not a taxi driver then? are taxi's all clear transparent then? who knows

Interesting theory Reality, but no, I didn’t want to view people from above, I think that the truck part of the dream was a throwback to the 10 or 11 years that I drove a 44 ton artic all around Europe, and the taxi part from the just shy of 30 years that I drove a London Black Cab.
I have absolutely no desire to do either job again, schlepping around Warsaw on the right hand side of the road was okay when I was a younger man, but I don’t fancy it now, likewise picking the ‘animals’ up in Bishopsgate holds no appeal, although the tourists were nice people for the most part, with the occasional exception of the Arab mindset around Edgware Road.

I sat my A level history exam three times in dreams before I actually sat it, and every time I woke up thinking "oh good, at least that one's over..."

I've woken up in distress due to things like this before. Sometimes it's things where I'm not sure if they actually happened

Other times the dreams are so vivid it's difficult to realign myself with reality. Not knowing where I am, wondering where my wife (I don't have a wife) has gone, thinking my computer sprung a leak in the night and suchlike

I'm a very vivid dreamer and my Sleep Apnoea mask is making it worse.
I often wake up and then decide if it was real or was it fantasy but then I realise I was caught in a landslide with no escape from reality.

I've been a non smoker for over 12 years and still get the occasional smoking dream, one or twice per year. I smoke 2 cigarettes, puffing away with one in each hand. When I wake up I'm convinced I've started smoking again, sometimes only realising it was a dream when I'm partway through my morning routine to get up washed and breakfasted.

No, but a mate of mine did get up and take a dump in one of those massive Victorian wardrobes once when crashing at somebody's house after we'd been out on an all day drink and drugs session. Apparently he was having a dream about the outhouse scene in Unforgiven.

After reading the woken up too early thread That one " dream " that sticks in my head, still not sure 16 years later if it really happened or not came to mind again.

I had just moved out of my mums and into my little flat here, I was only in the flat for about a week and never locked the front door.
One night I was woken from my slumber to noises coming from the living room which sounded like they were going through my Cd's etc.
So I jumped out of bed stripped off my t-shirt and pants and Shouted Get the f out of my flat or I'm gonna S**g you up the A**e! Two of them ran out the door while one was bolder and stopped in the hall but I warned him again and he left.
I woke up in the morning all confused and thinking did that really happen or was it a dream, I got out of bed to find I had taken my clothes of during the night...so did it?

Worst coming out the closet tale ever.

My dreams are so amazing I don't think I am wasting time asleep, more that I have experienced something that I can't quite remember accurately, but the aftertaste leaves such a feeling of otherworldlyness, can't think of a better word, then details pop up during the day, the corner pieces of the jigsaw are joined by others that paint a picture of the nature of the universe and our place in it (puts down the bong and walks slowly to the exit)

Echoes of above final comment by Moonman - I've certainly been so drunk that I wasn't sure whether I'd dreamt events or they had actually happened...

had plenty of vivid dreams, but normally with enough abnormality to easily convince myself it was a dream once i've achieved consciousness even if i'm still emotionally linked to whatever was going on in the dream (eg if i'm having a nightmare i'm still scared).

only time i've been fooled, and indeed i'm still not sure to this day, is when i was a kid i dreamt my mum came in to wake me up, which then woke me up 10 seconds before my mum actually came in to wake me up exactly how it had just gone in the dream, the prediction was so vivid i can't tell if it was just scarily accurate or if my mum came in twice (and acted exactly the same way both times, even down to tone of voice)

I had a dream last night I was on my way to hell on a train, stopped off at a shop on the way but had no money and the devil was trying to give me counterfit notes from a polly pocket on the wall, I said no,

A couple times I've randomly remembered something, and couldn't be completely sure if it had happened in the real world or in a dream.

My memory is bad enough at the best of times, without having to worry if the thing I'm remembering really happened or not!

And you're absolutely sure this had nothing to do with all the "home intrusion fantasy" gay porn that you watched before bedtime?

Happens all the time to me. The other night had a vividly realistic dream about scarf shopping.

Went looking for the scarf in the morning.
I never thought I wanted a Kashmir scarf until this morning.

That's inception that is.
