We've rented our house for 5 years now and the week we moved in, we had water coming through the kitchen ceiling from the bathroom. A year of quick fixes failed to properly solve the issue and it was eventually decided that the bathroom would be ripped out and replaced.
The work was initially due to be carried out whilst we were away on holiday, but the work was cancelled. In the end, it took place about 6 months later. I raised a few points of concern which were all met with an answer from Beresfords...
I work shifts and will be coming from night shifts for two of the days when work is taking place. Will the landlord either put me up in a cheap hotel so I can sleep or agree to start work later on those days?
No and no.
Where will I wash, as the bathroom won't be available for use?
You have a sink in the kitchen and that is enough.
Where will I go to the toilet?
The toilet will only be unavailable for short periods so no need for any other arrangements.
Basically not a toss was given.
