The last series was so poor I have little to no interest in this which is a shame because the 1st couple of series were epic they just took a massive dump on the franchise with the final series which made me feel I'd wasted my time.

it wasn't just the final series of GOT that was bad though, it was a steady descent at the point they started writing past where the books had got to. Characters like Varys and Littlefinger suddenly started making poor stupid decisions whereas earlier they had been so clever in all they'd done.

I think it's just the final series is so absolutely jarring in it's disrespect for the viewers it's easy to latch on to that being the point it all went bad when in fact, it had been declining in quality since around season 5.

I assume that contractually they're not allowed to. GRRM is keeping that plot point exceptionally well guarded. Given how the writers treated revelations in that final season you can hardly blame him. He's going to keep a tight hold of any and all future plot revelations from now on. I assume a lot of HotD is taken from Fire and Blood, a companion novel to the main series which covers a lot of the Targ history leading up to then.

I think that's a little harsh. I've no doubt his productivity has faltered a little the past few years but I don't think it's fair to suggest he doesn't care anymore. It's his baby and he needs it to be as good as it can be.

GoT was ok but went on far too long i got tired of watching it by the end. Doubt id watch anything else from GoT. Those that do watch probs only watch it for the soft porn as cant say they be that interested in the plot since ppl know what happens in the future.
