I have some patches showing through the wallpaper which are bothering me, I don't know what they are. Does anyone have any ideas?

If I had to guess I would say it's some sort of vengeful Japanese spirit starting to manifest its presence in your house. Otherwise, how about damp or mould?

Old blood stains from a previous crime scene they use a spray that covers it up but eventually demons leak through and feast on the residue energy left behind leaving only the shadow

Failing the evil spirits - I'd say there is definately some damp coming through the brickwork underneath.

Either a leak from a pipe, or rain water is getting in somehow.

Check roof and guttering since something appears to be making wall damp.

Was it a damp wall before wallpapering and you used a cheap paste with no mould inhibitor?
