£300-350 price tag.

Wonder what chipset they will use?
I hope it's not snapdragon.

Samsung Watches usually run on their own Exynos chips.

I am looking forward to seeing this device.

I want a Wear OS watch again but the current crop of devices have the 3100 chip set in & it's not up to much in the battery dept.

Yeah I know, but it's a bit of a bland looking watch.

Did you really type that :)
They all look the same to me especially looking at pictures of both Samsung and Ticwatch together.

Wear OS is getting a complete revamp, Google is now teaming up with Samsung to merge Wear OS and Tizen into Wear: https://blog.google/products/wear-os/wear-io21/

This sounds very promising, Tizen overall felt sleeker but Wear OS had more polished app choices. Hopefully it will be a perfect balance of both worlds. I'm curious though, is this OS still Android based? Will current Wear OS apps still work on it? Will Tizen apps work on it too?

Fitbit also announced they plan to use the new OS for their premium smart watches: https://9to5google.com/2021/05/18/fitbit-will-make-premium-smartwatches-based-on-wear-os/

It sounds like it's still android based. So all wear apps should be compatible as its a new version combined with Tizen.so both platform apps might work
Samsung and Google have a long history of collaboration. Now, we’re bringing the best of Wear and Tizen into a single, unified platform. By working together we have been able to take strengths of each and combine them into an experience that has faster performance, longer battery life and more of the apps you love available for the watch
Finally, our unified platform will make it easier for developers to build great apps for the watch.

If you read into various articles. not one manufacture has stated if they will provide a new firmware with the new google/Samsung collaboration onto older watches or in fact if they will be supported. id hazard a guess that you will only get the new google/Samsung os on newer premium devices and in fact not on any of the older devices.

I suspect there are going to be a lot of unhappy people.
Watch face compatibility. The same problem I had going from wear os to Samsung Tizen os. any watch faces previously purchased would not work on the new os. I'm a bit of a watch face freak, I have tons and tons of them. So if i bought one of the new watches containing the new os. I would have to completely buy new ones. make no mistake there will not be any compatibility, you will have to buy new ones including apps I suspect.
