Screen full of red vertical lines only pre windows.

Plugged in a new 6800 (not xt) into my server, on boot I get a display, but with hundreds on red vertical lines all across the screen. Anywhere text etc is updating, slightly changes the lines.
As soon as the windows logo or generally the bios splash screen appears, the display is fine.
In windows everything seems fine, furmark etc shows no problems.

Anyone ever run into this before? Is it just because I've not updated the bios in forever?

MSI z87 g65, or gaming 5,whatever it was.
4790k stock.
Fractal 650w platinum psu.

Wouldn't worry about it, is it running in non eufi mode? my rx 480 displays some garbled sh!t at boot on my x58 system

Honestly can't remember. It was built when 4790k was new and after setup, haven't been in the bios, and it's normally headless anyway so I never get to see pre windows normally lol.

Makes sense for it to just be a glitch/mildly iffy setting though. Happy to leave it now I know I'm not the only one lol
