If these new sprint races can provide the same level of excitement I’ll be all for them.

Well at least tyres will be zero issue, races won't be long enough to wear the tyres much.

Although there should be a mandated pit stop to spice things up.

Main race should always have three mandated pit stops I reckon.

Again spice things up, always room for mistakes at pit stops, and eliminate any issue with tyre wear over long stints.

I say, set a minimum amount of time you need to be stationary in the pits during the race, say 20 seconds. That way you can do one controlled stop where you can do numerous things and make sure it is all done, or you do two or three less sedate stops.
The whole 2 second pit stop has lead to more dangerous events and disappointments than it has particularly exiting racing.
