I fixed the hard drive problem but still my processor being a 1700 is unsupported. I might grab a 2nd hand 3700x and pop it in there.

You have a TPM module installed? I have CPU amber and red TPM but there is no way in hell I will be paying anything more than 9.99 for a TPM module.

Any specific reason for that number? The TPMs for my boards have always been around £13-15...

Enterprise kit has been shipping with TPM chips for about 10 years. Consumer kit, generally not until the PTT/fTPM modules popped up in the chipsets a couple of years ago.

How does one apply this at installation time? We need to rebuild the packages?
I vaguely remember you can do this with windows. But I haven't done any Windows admin for about 5 years now.

The removed taskbar features are an absolute deal breaker.
1: You cannot customise the start menu with named groups and stuff
2: The taskbar is locked to the bottom of the screen
Other things too but those two alone for me will mean I just don't care about Windows 11. Direct Storage etc will be on Windows 10 too so from a gaming standpoint it's not a selling point either to upgrade to 11.
Or is it going to be a case of just getting used to the fact that you now have to do as Microsoft provides? Day by day MS become more Apple in this regard it seems...

Windows 11 only, windows 10 isn't getting it, officially at least (I wouldn't be shocked to see unofficial back porting).
