Tie Fighter Total Conversion Mod!!

Its finally here after 10 years in development!

The TIE Fighter Total Conversion (TFTC) project is aimed at porting the original classic 1994 LucasArts game TIE Fighter, into the 1999 X-Wing Alliance (XWA) engine. Based on the original TFTC from 2005 and built upon the X-Wing Alliance Upgrade project, this is a complete overhaul of the game from graphics to gameplay. All 13 battle campaigns and their training missions have been ported over along with 8 Reimagined battle campaigns, taking advantage of the much better XWA engine and imagining how TIE Fighter could've been had the technology of the time not limited it. But here's a general breakdown of what you can expect from this mod!

A full port of all the Classic TIE Fighter missions, including the expansions Defender of the Empire and Enemies of the Empire - a total of 76 campaign missions + the 28 original Training missions. This includes all the original voiceovers and cutscenes.
A Reimagined campaign of the first 8 Battles of TIE Fighter. These take the original missions, expand upon them for more ships, bigger battles or in some cases completely build new missions out of them but retaining the same overall narrative and story points of the original Classic. This campaign includes 37 fully playable campaign missions + 4 updated training scenarios.
That's a total of 145 unique missions between both the Classic and Reimagined versions!
Enjoy the amazing updated visuals for the X-Wing Alliance engine made possible by the X-Wing Alliance Upgrade project (XWAU), bringing this 22 year old game into the modern era of graphics.
VR Support, again thanks to the XWAU project.

Must be some mod the game is only 500mb approx on steam. Mod plus Update patch 4 is over 8gb.

Wont install for me says TieFighter.ini is missing from D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars X-Wing Alliance\FLIGHTMODELS

Registered to their forum and posted a post for help. Did a search on their forum and comes up with nothing.

Also you need to download xwahooksetup.zip to install after the main install from that website to get various things working like mouse, custom resolution etc from what I have read so you can get 4k and UW working to make sure you have the latest versions of the hooks.

Do you want to stay up-to-date on developments in XWA game functions? Make sure you always have all the updated "Hooks".
What is a "Hook"? A hook is a way to inject code into the game. It enhances, adds a feature or fixes a problem with the game. All the current hooks are automatically installed with the XWAU 2020 Mega Patch and future patches. Updated Hook information is posted on the Forum subsection.
If you want to keep your hooks up-to-date use XwaHooksSetup.zip from the Download page to easily get the latest versions.

Usage:
1) Run XwaHooksSetup.exe.
2) It will create directories named "Hooks" and "Setup" and download the hooks from GitHub into these. To redownload the hooks, delete these directories.
3) Copy and Paste the new files from the "Setup" folder into the XwingAlliance game directory and you're done.

oh wow, I'd heard of the xwing remake but this one wasn't on my scope. Will have a go setting this up

Got this all installed. What is the easiest way to get an xbox one controller profile working? Would imagine loads of hardcore fans have put together a good profile as opposed to me having to work one out.

Probably add it to steam and use their custom mapping pad tools where u can map anything to anything.

Holy crap I can't believe this is finally out... just think of the level of passion and effort needed to make this a reality; It is mind-boggling. I can't wait to go back and play it at some point! :eek:
