Was thinking about getting back into this game... definitely have to give it a try now.

Do i need to install the DLSS files separate or will installing the latest drivers automatically work with options available to turn it on and off in the game menu?

Performance seems good, got a min of 58 FPS (V-Sync on) in the benchmark, with the highest preset, 4K res + DLSS performance mode enabled.

you dont need ultra dlss at 4k to get 60 fps with 3070

you probably have absurdly maxed out settings

i can get native 1800p 60 fps with optimized settings (which looks near identical to the maxed out ones)

Only tried it at 3440x1440 so far but as expected, on the "whole", better IQ than native + TAA or MSAA etc. with a decent enough boost in FPS; Quality DLSS VS TAA high (with TAA sharpening slider about 6/7 out of 10), hard to get a like for like comparison though due to the smallest lighting change with the storm/clouds having a pretty big impact on the overall image.

Also, as expected, motion is far better too, this is using a xbox controller with the joy stick pushed all the way to the right and screenshot captured during this movement, so about as fair as you can get, as per usual TAA is a smeary vaseline mess:

And before people say, "don't use TAA then.....", TAA was the only way to mostly eliminate jaggies and not have hair, grass etc. look like straw, MSAA was crap and a huge perf hog for 4x, let alone 8x

Whacked up the settings a bit more from high to ultra for things like lighting, shadows etc., dlss quality vs native + TAA:

Just updated and tried to the benchmarks

my system is 3080, 5900, Dark Hero Mb, 32GB Ram, PCI4 SSD. Monitor is Samsung CRG9 running at 5120*1440

I ran benchmarks with DLLS Off, Balanced and Ultra Performance

Off -
Min 33
Max 117
Avg - 78

Balanced
Min - 84
Max 120
Avg 103

Ultra performance
Min 79
Max 133
Avg 115

I didn't look too closely to compare the screens, but it don't look vastly different in any of the benchmarks

I find rdr 2 in game benchmark to be hit and miss and not a great representative of actual gameplay.

Few more screenshot comparisons:

It's actually ridiculous just how much clearer motion is now.

Such a shame nvidia have upped the sharpness with dlss though, can see so many artifacts on edges from over sharpening that weren't there with previous 2.2 versions.

At 1440p with everything maxed using an undervolted 3080(900mV/1920MHz) at 1440p -

Code:
DLSS OFF Quality
Min 37.3913 28.0293
Max 62.0109 119.305
Avg 48.9649 84.4729

Not sure why the minimums are so low as the lowest i've noticed with DLSS Quality is 59. Perhaps it's just down to loading at the scene change?

I'm still using an Ivy Bridge 3770k, 32GB DDR3, 1*512GB SATA SSD and 4*4TB SATA SSD.

Great timing with the DLSS patch as I just picked up a 32GP850-B panel last week :)
