Hi all,

**Update - So I managed to grab a 3070 FE for £100 plus my 3060 Ti FE.. overall very happy with the aesthetics and performance of the cooler itself... and I do prefer the grey shroud vs silver on the Ti.. anyway Benchies.. I reran the below on the 3070.. overall I'm very happy and this is the fastest card I've ever owned.. easily plays most of my games at 4k60+

so as some of you know I managed to grab a FE 3060 Ti from Wednesday's restock whilst initially I thought I'd jumped the gun due to being excited with a new restock I knew I could either sell the Titan Xp for more than I paid for the Ti or be the good brother I am and sell to my brother for the same price.. anyhow it would've been rude for me not to get some benches of them both.

All the below were ran at 4K Maxed settings and I tried to keep the action/enviroment like for like for both cards.. I tried to include some older and more newer games

*Updated conclusion - really this is the minimum upgrade path I should have gone for from a Titan Xp, you're looking at roughly 35% better performance on average with some exceptions i.e Doom Eternal.. but yea I'm chuffed with the card.. the 3060 Ti IS a better Perf/£ HOWEVER for me the extra £100 is warranted for the additional performance where games such as Days gone would barely be touching 60fps on the Ti..*

Conclusion: I suppose I was expecting a little more, would I spend more than £369 for the Ti? No, only because I knew I could recover the costs for the Ti I pulled the trigger and in return I would get a much newer GPU with new features and better support. Can I also add the FE is incredible, quiet and cool, much cooler and quiet than the Titan.

Overall I'm happy and in some games there's a nice little bump in performance which at 4k is always welcomed. Have I ran into an issue going down to 8gb Vram from 12GB.. not yet! - though if someone can help as no matter what fan curve I set the card seems to go off it's on fan profile??

Your 1% low framerate & 0.1% low framerate are much better on the 3060ti and looks like a nice little upgrade and when you sell your Titan Xp on will recover a good bit of the cost back too, then you have all latest features of a next gen card too with a 3060ti and HDMI 2.1 so you can use it on a TV with 120hz. So really not bad upgrade. I think you probably would have been happier with a 3080 card but again the costs as we know. Also a nice cpu upgrade may help the 3060ti be faster if you are using the 8700K it will bottleneck it in some games but at 4k I wouldn't worry about it.

Your gaming at 4k it's still a huge jump especially if you enable DLSS on supported titles but at that res a 3060ti isn't going to be the huge jump that other 3 series cards would be.

Exactly with DLSS it will destory the titan xp and make it look silly with games that support DLSS and also he can now use RT now too.

I would love a 3080 though they're never in stock.. I think I'm going to hold out for new cards now which should be just over a years time.. here's where a 3080 comes in stock next week :D

You are kidding yourself mate, you'll be diving in for a top tier 3080 card once this madness has fully ended, it looks like we are about 8 weeks out :D

I look forward to your 3080 follow-up thread :D

I imagine it does so using much less electricity, it does rack up at the end of the year
This is also true it's sips less power which is a benefit! In newer games I expect the Ti to be a good chunk faster. End of the day when it's overclocked it's sits in between a stock 2080 super and 2080 Ti being closer to the Ti which is nothing to sniff at

That's the proper upgrade you are looking for. When I did my tests it was around double the performance of my Titan XP :)

one thing I will say is also, after just playing NFS Payback with every setting enabled 4k the card never dipped below 60fps even when going through tunnels ( something which tanked the FPS on my 1080 & Titan ) also I noticed with my 1080 it would use the full 8gb Vram when when in menu the FPS would tank to single digits yet the Ti with the same Vram doesn't suffer like the 1080 did? I'm guessing the increased bandwidth? also only using around 7.7GB Vram..

Unused tensor cores help to compress the data held in Vram by up to 40%. So 8Gb Vram can store up to 11.2Gb of data.

Nice cheers for sharing.
Makes it clearer.
Wanted a 3060ti, but ended up going for the 3070.
Pleased looking at your results.

You're welcome! Even if its helped one person it was worth it!.. :) like I said technically the 3060 Ti is better value for most users however I would rather spend the extra £100 as where the Ti just scraped the 60fps in some games the 3070 gives me more breathing room! :)
