Hi people. Well I have a 3080 but decided to give the 6800XT a go. For those who have one, do you have it/use it overclocked for daily usage? I ask because when I had a 1080ti and 2080ti, I overclocked them and ran them overclocked for the time I had them. The 3080 on the other hand is undervolted to keep the temps in check. I was wondering how most people use their 6800XT. Thanks.

Use at stock settings at 1440p runs everything at high FPS its biggest challenge is metro enhanced with full on ratraycing enabled but usually a solid 60fps

I'll plan on overclocking as and when perfmance is needed I feel it just isn't needed to push the hardware until required

OP>I just got my 6800xt today and had a quick play with it. I just upgraded from 1080ti to a 3070 days earlier but one came up and I thought I would give it a try as it has been a loooooooooong time since I last used Ati cards like crossfire 5870. I ran my 1080 ti at stock and for the less than the week old 3070 I ran it overclocked. And I currently run the 6800xt stock. I do;t have any current plans to run this overclocked as it faster stock than my 3070 clocked. It is just a smidgen quieter and cooler while using the same power. But more than that it's smoother gameplay.

What 6800 XT have you got? If you have temperature headroom, go for it. Some 6800 XTs overclock very well, (2700Mhz) and some seem to top out at around 2500Mhz.

Just make sure you have the power limit slider set to +15% if overclocking.

Personally I run at stock because my card isn't the best clocker, and so the extra temperature, power and noise aren't worth it, plus the performance is plenty good enough. At least in the case of my Nitro+ it's very cool and quiet, even in these summer temps.

I bought a 6800XT Tuf. This one seems to top out at 2550Mhz, memory can run 2150Mhz with Fast Timings active. I'll use it for a few days overclocked and check temps to see if its worth it.

Validate that 2150Mhz is giving performance gains, use Timespy or Unigine Superposition and go up in 10mhz clock increments from 2070Mhz. You start losing performance at some point after 2100Mhz.

If you get lucky, you will achieve 2150Mhz.

Yeah I ran 3DMark stock, and then with the overclocks to make sure I wasnt losing performance. The AMD software also says that 2150mhz when it does its own testing.

I run mine stock day to day, I have the Nitro+ and it flies. Just upgraded cpu from my 1950x so now she is really stretching her legs. I really like this card, overclocked its got a fair bit of headroom but honestly it does just fine stock.

The software says that for every RX 6000 series GPU, so it pays to validate performance increases. :)
Just tested it again to double check. Did some runs with Time Spy, since initially I did Firestrike. The score increases performance at 2100Mhz, it increases again at 2150Mhz, and it gets even higher at 2150Mhz and "Fast" Timings.

I was running my 3080 at 2000Mhz and 925v just fine, but since Radeon 6000 lauched I wanted to switch. Everything seems to be running great so far, and getting higher scores than my 3080 :)
