Price of PC for 4k gaming?

My brother wanted to know what's a 'cheap' PC that he could play GTA V on in 4k? Just wondered on a rough price I could tell him.

He wants to play it on his 50" 4k TV.

Is he comfortable adding the FSR mod?

If so looks like a 1660 super level would be more than sufficient with FSR. That costs around £350 in the current GPU shortage based on OCUK prices. Maybe double check if you don't go AMD that FSR will work on the card you choose. So for a whole machine in the range of £750ish - £850ish.

I would be inclined to wait 12 months and see if prices come crashing down on GPUs.

A 3060 Ti or 6700 XT can do this, that's as cheap as I'd want to go if playing games at 4K.

Pre-builds with this spec are around £1000-£1300.

For native 4k I'd agree - but done you think this is overkill with FSR?

If it’s just for GTA V then maybe get a console.
