New build for my son/New mobo advice

Son is just turning 10, so would like to put together a semi decent build for him without breaking the bank.

Once i've ordered my new case for my own build, i'll be using that for him, alongside my wraith prism cooler.

I'll need pretty much everything else though, monitor keyboard etc, but it's been a while since i've dipped into a new build, and not quite sure where to start.

Budget is around £5-700 but might be flexible as it'll be getting built gradually as opposed to a single order.
Gaming wise it won't be any higher than 1080p, as he's mostly xbox on his TV anyway, but it would be nice to have the option.

I'm looking at the razer lian li case for myself, but i'm reading i'll need a new mobo to be able to use the usb c port on the front, again any advice would be appreciated!

Cheers

Heres a base.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £374.02 (includes shipping: £11.10)

Add a gpu when the prices and availability is more sensible or get a second hand one like a RX 470/480/580/rx5550/rx5600 or gtx 960/970/1060/1070/1660 etx
As hes 10 there is little point buying much more than a cheaper trust brand keyboard and mouse for £20ish.
Monitor look for a second hand dell ultrasharp 23" (u23h10/11/12hm) for about £30ish. They are brilliant cheap 1080p gaming monitors inc a fantastic stand and digital inputs.

With regards to usb c you could always just buy an internal card like this one

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £43.69 (includes shipping: £8.70)

Cant really recommend a new motherboard without knowing what your currently using.

If your buying the Razor 011D I assume your going to water cooling (AIO etc) as the case has very poor support for air cooling.Brilliant water cooling case :)

This is what Ive come up with, if you don't need the case then this will save a bit also but stuck one in with some nice RGB and good airflow.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £691.88 (includes shipping: £0.00)

Without the case then you could add in a higher end motherboard.

The big problem though is the GPU unless you upgrade and donate him your vega.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £120.50 (includes shipping: £10.50)

Thanks guys, it's given me a starting point, i was looking at the corsair h115i as an AIO, unless there's anything else that would be better at that price range?

I'm currently using an aorus b450 elite with a ryzen 2600 and phanteks case, although the model escapes me, the draw of the razer case on top of the usual was the front facing C port

I was debating upgrading everything in mine and just giving him it, but can't afford it in one go haha

Maybe the amd 5700g would be good as you only want 1080p gaming , not sure if the wrath cooler would be enough

or look at maybe going i5-10400

both have integrated graphics so you can hold off on the graphics card until prices are better
