I attempted to ask my question of Epson but could not find an Epson Forum open. If this is the wrong forum could you please let me know where I should post?
Can the Epson GT 15000 view Black and White negatives.

All scanners can view Black and White negatives. The issue is if the scanner provides the "light" to shine through the negative in order for the scanner to get a proper scan of the negative to view. Since normally the light comes "from" the scanner cathodes, rather than behind the negative (under the lid). And looking at the GT15000, it looks like it's a standard scanner only. So it won't be able to view black and white negatives natively. You'll need to purchase some mods that'll provide that light so you can then scan the negative. However, I am unsure if there is such a mod for this specific model.
There was a time when you can get flatbed scanners with this ability built in, but that feature has died out over the last few years. So if you want to scan a negative, you'll need to grab one of those smaller negative scanners instead that scans only negatives.
