Is that the "MY-002-8P" kit on OCUK? I think I have the same kit - "Team Group 8Pack Edition 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 PC4-28800C16 3600MHz Dual Channel Kit"

I've never done any in-depth tweaking of component settings - I am limited to switching the XMP profile on and letting the Ryzen software "Auto-OC".

I came here to find out if and how I can get the most out of my memory kit. Safely of course.
Yep, that’s the stuff.
Why are you limited to only switching the xmp profile on?

The 32GB 3200C14 kit can now be had for £199.99 and the 3600C16 kit is £229.99.

Good to see these prices back to pre covid.

Typical, just got the new memory above installed and system won't POST with memory set to XMP profile. I did clear CMOS before installing. Tried manually setting DRAM to 1.35v, tried SoC at 1.15v without success. Tried dropping speed down to 3400, still no POST. At 3200 it booted first time and on a quick test in Windows seems stable.

Am I missing something obvious or does my 5950x just have a duffer of a memory controller?

Ryzen Master shows following voltages:
MEM VDDIO 1.35
MEM VTT 0.675
VDDCR SOC 1
XLDO VDDP 0.9002
CLDO VDDG CCD 0.9002
CLDO VDDG IOD 0.9002

Current timings 3200-16-16-16-16-38

I assume just two DIMMS and manually setting the timings (not using the DOCP thing) edit: oh your a Gigabyte board

Have you tried the setting the XMP profiles manually with everything on auto to start, with the DRAM voltage only at 1.35V. Then try booting at different memory speeds. Does it boot at 3400 with 1.35v on auto?

If successful then try manually adjusting the memory timings. I never touched any voltages in my settings - all set to auto except 1.35v RAM.

I have a slightly older pair of 2x 8GB of that memory at 3600 on 1.35v with manual XMP timings paired with a 5800x.

Maybe the 5950x is more fragile with the mem controller?

Try upping the SoC to 1.1 and playing about with the VDDG IOD adjusting up or down.

Also might be worth making sure your on the latest bios as infinity fabric speeds were a bit sketchy on some of the early bios.

Tried again this evening. Kit just refuses to boot at anything past 3200 so I settled on 3200 cl14 fast timings from the Ryzen DRAM calculator. Shaved a good 5ns off the latency as measured by Aida64 compared to my old kit :) May be able to further tighten secondary and tertiary timings but right now I'm just going to check for stability and call it a day.

Just to be clear, you have a new kit of Team Group 8Pack Edition 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 PC4-28800C16 3600MHz and it won't run above 3200Mhz with a 5950x on an Auros X570 mobo?!?!?!? Something is not right there!

I had (have) the 16gb version of this samsung b-die kit I think it is, mine simply wouldn't post past 3500 on my old 3900x but the new 5900x will do 3800mhz on this 3600mhz kit easily.

Its the IMC on the cpu? Something like that as the kit is capable of 4000mhz according to 8pack.

Same here, it just woudn't have it with the old chip.

I currently have Team Group 8Pack RIPPED Edition 16GB DDR4 PC4-28800C14 3600MHZ.

I've got a VR set up now and i think the 16GB is hitting the ceiling. Should i just buy another two sticks of the same or perhaps consider alternatives?
