what kind of clock speeds have people been getting with these chips I am currently up to 2.8GHz 270*10.5 @1.45v :) with mine running prime at the moment seems stable so far. I dont know if im going to reach it's maximum as my mobo(Asus a8n-sli deluxe) doesn't seem to like going over 270

My DFI doesn't like going over 274HTT either. Although i havent checked for a newer bios so that could help.

At the moment my san diego is at 2650/HTT265/MEM265.

Not bad with cack value ram. :D

needmorespeed why don't you just stick the multi up to 11 and lower the HTT?

I'm going to up the multi been running prime now for about 10hrs now seems stable enough to me :)

just changed it to 11 x 270 = 2.97GHz still at 1.45v :D just started prime running again temp is up to 43c :)

What sort of cooling are you running on your system... I am on stock HSF + stock volts and can only get my cpu to 260x10, anything about that fails prime... Would love to get 270+ on the HTT... :)

Whats the stock volts on a 3700+ and how high can i increase the volts to remain safe... Also increasing the volts will also increase the temps, so again, whats a safe temp to run the 3700+ at... Sorry for all the questions... Hehe... :)

stock voltage is 1.4v i think i go only go up to 1.55 should be ok aslong as you can keep it cool enough.

i would say around 60c is a good maximum :)

Aye i can only got upto 1.55v on my motherboard (asus a8n sli deluxe)... ATM @ 260x10 im hitting 55c under load with prime95 on stock cooling, with better cooling i may be able to overclock higher, as on stock 260x10 seems my max overclock on stock volts... :(

Ive had mine upto 2.7Ghz, but my mobo al;so has the same problem, with my old winnie 3000+ it wouldnt go over 270HTT

I think this is a common fault with Asus Boards because my Asus AV8 Board didn't want to go over 270 FSB... it was very weird...tried all different Bios's aswell, hence why I bought a DFI :)

I'm using the Prime95 from the site and do a Small FTTs torture test. Tested my 3700+ @ 2.75 1.55v on stock cooling last night and it failed at 9 hours although after looking at the temps there was a rise from 53C to 57C over the last hour which i think contributed and once i get my arctic cooler I rekon it should be fine as it passes OCCT, S&M and SuperPi.

Run Prime95 over night and use other stress testers as nothing is 100% reliable and I've heard of prime95 failing over 24 hours on a stable rig.

does prime95 give you a time when it fails so if i left it over night i would be able to see how long it was running stable for?

also could you tell me what speeds i could be getting with the following components:

asrock a8x-m (very simmilar to dual sata2 but has no pci-e and is a micro board
AMD 3700+
1gb Geil value pc3200 cas2.5 (dual Channel)
ati 9800xt
Raptor 40gb (running windows)

I got 3800 on pcmark05 - is this a reasonable score or do you think that is low for the rate my processor is running (2.7ghz / Ram 192mhz / FSB 245)

Was having problems with my Raptor running really slowly but have installed sata raid drivers and changed the option to non-raid and the problem seems to have gone (did a pcmark05 with the hard drive running slowly got 3100, now scored 3800)

Any help would be great

Thanks

Duncan
