need help in buying more memory

Hello folks,

I got 1gb of geil value memory but as im doing heavy polygons 3d graphics i need more.

I was thinking of the 2gb set but! i dont want to waste my mobo.

Can i mix the 2gb with my 2x512 ? to get 3gb?

I know i've read countless threads about mix and matching but i dont want to waste the 1gb geil.

I wont be doing any overclocking as this x2 are more than enough!

Lets say a budget of £150

According to the specs in the manual you should be fine - but that isn't always a guarantee it will work. You will obviously lose Dual-Channel inserting all 4 sticks.

2 Gig is a lot of memory you may want to try experimenting (benchmark) the trade off between 2 gig dual-channel & running 3 gig using all 4 slots.

More memory the better as a rule - but some mobo's can lose stability & their true speed running capability when all slots are filled.
