I was trying to find something interesting to do on New Years Day. I heard on the news that there was a polar bear dip. I thought that was strange because there are obviously no polar bears in southern Ontario! Apparently it is when a group of people run into Lake Ontario wearing only swim suits in the middle of winter! Anyway, it sounded like a photo opportunity and a nice walk, so I went along to see. Here are the photos.

Nuts. But must be a lot of fun. In Russia some people dive in rivers in -20-40 degrees cold... The closet I came to this was jumping in the snow after a "banya" (russian wet sauna) and pouring a bucket of cold water on myself. Actualy it felt very hot after :D
Good photos, they make me smile :)
