I have brought and installed HL2. I have access to CS:S but I would like to play the old CS 1.6 game. A friend told me I would be able to play this if I brough HL2 but I can't seem to find it? Can you help?

no.hl2 does not include valve past catalog.
You need to buy conditionzero to get the classic counter strike(1.6) and it costs $15=about 6-7gbp i think.
1.6 has way better gameplay than cs source but bot that shiny graphics

I'm not sure whether this will work, but I registered my original Half Life (bought for me soon after it's original release date) copy's serial number in steam and unlocked CS/HL it for download/use... So, if it works, buying a budget version of Half Life might be cheaper than CS:CZ.

Get Condition Zero retail and you get it free!!! 3 games for the price of one. Theres deleted scenes in it also thats a single player counter strike.

If you can't find CS:CZ NEW, then get Counter-Strike1: Anthology, that comes with more games than CS:CZ does, and has everything you need.

Have a look in the Steam FAQ sticky in my sig, lots of details on there, or go to www.steampowered.com

Im nearly sure you can buy and download them direct from steam.
You can, for a ripoff price.
