Same here, been this way a while now. I've reported packet loss twice to no avail. 40-50k peak on 1mb is 'normal', if I ramp up the connections I can get 75k-ish.

Thinking of migrating!

I've not noticed slow speeds, 230+k on newsgroup downloads - haven't played games lately so not sure about pings..
just thought i would share this with you my mate works for eclipse even though he woud get a big discount he would never go with them, he works on the tech side, they installed new stuff about 3months ago and the whole system went down, and when customers phoned up they said it was a fault with bt, so my mate tells me they are allways messing things up, the only reason he is working there is the money and not far from his home in exeter

Looks like it is indeed a peak time issue.

Getting normal pings (14-20ms) to bbc.co.uk, but a reasonable amount of packet loss, and ADSLGuide speedtest is 620k for a 1meg connection :(

I really hope this isn't a result of all the F2S/Plusnet leechers coming over to Eclipse :(:(

Argh, pants again. I've just opened a ticket hoping it'll do some good.

I've been seriously looking at migrating, maybe to an office service.
I want to click things and have them open instantly! This is the biggest difference I noticed when I went from Nildram to Eclipse, speed tests were the same but Nildram was much more responsive (two years ago)

Is this an IP Stream, 50:1 product?

Check out http://bbs.adslguide.org.uk, loads of people there having the same problems :(

All we can really do is open tickets and try and get them to recognise the issue

I migrated from Eclipse 2 months ago due to the poor excuse for tech support they have.

I moved house to one with a 1mb line, dropped connections every 10 mins but it was random, did a massive thread on it in the hope someone could help me.
Did everything right from my end, tried 3 new routers, checked wiring in sockets, isolated master socket with router in - they told me that it was BT all along.
After a month of this Eclipse told me that BT had recommended i drop to 512kbps, it took them a whole month for them to figure this out
I wasnt happy but reluctantly agreed, in between the regrade i got a stable 1mb connection and the email from Eclipse stating that they had been the fault of the problems over the past week or so, so i was happy!
I thought the problems were over and they had given me the 1mb connection i desired, AAAAAAAAARGH - they still went ahead with the regrade and droped my connection to 512kbps.
That was the last straw so i upped and left to Zen.
1mb, stable, superb tech support.
I'm now happy albeit paying s tad more per month.

Moral of the story is LEAVE ECLIPSE-THEY ARE CRAP!
