Looking for a Mac edition of this game. Yes, Mac - I know one exists, but I suspect it may be out of print. I've checked all the usual websites and didn't find it (well, one did have the PC edition but no Mac). Is fleabay my only available recourse or does anyone know of any place that specialises in oldies?

Thanks, I'd already seen that, but I don't like buying software from abroad, as it's hell getting your money back if you're swindled. Not to mention that I seriously doubt those games are "new". I don't particularly mind used, but the fact that he falsely claims they're new doesn't exactly ingratiate me towards him. If they turn out to be used when he's claiming they're new they might equally well turn out to be for PC instead of for Mac...
Also, his feedback page looks really suspicious: multiple identical positive comments from the same buyer, seems like some kind of bot scam.

you can run a PC version of Lucasarts games on a mac by using SCUMMVM as my brother had done this on his imac and my copies of S&M, MI etc. so you could get a PC copy of them, copy the contents of the CD to your macs hard drive and let SCUMMVM worry about the format of it and just enjoy the S&M goodness.

Thanks Matt, I might have to resort to SCUMMVM myself, it's just that it was meant as a gift to a not very computer literate person and if I could find a Mac version it'd be a bonus.
Subxero, enjoy!:D By the way, you mentioned Day of the Tentacle: you wouldn't have the edition that has both games (Sam and Max and Tentacle) in the same box, would you? If that's the case, could you look at it and let me know if it says anywhere that it runs on both Mac and Windows? Because I think that's the edition Tried&Tested was talking about above.

Nah sorry mate, bought them both individually more than 10 years ago, wow that sounds a long time ago when these were both new games, so couldn't tell you unfortunately :(

Runs beautifully tho, not tried day of the tentacle yet, they don't make em like they used to *sniff* :(
