Star Filter

Hi...
just wounderin if any of you lot could give me any tips on where the best place to buy a Star Filter for a Nikon D70...
lens... AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-70mm f3.5-4.5G IF ED
also wounderin how much one would cost???

Well, I assume your lens takes 67mm filters (that being the most important thing you could have told us) so a Hoya 6 or 8 star filter will set you back around £30 including postage from a certain fast storage facility.

You can also get Cokin star filters (but you'd need to buy the adaptor too) from that exceptionally expensive high street camera shop.

Sorry may i ask what a star filter is? By its name i assume its a filter for taking pics of star trails? or is it something completly different? cheers. dont wanna steal thread btw

It does this to light sources. Personally I dislike the effect but there are times when it could be used creatively.
