Morning,

On the way home a few minutes ago I spotted a really nice looking 406 sitting on the forecourt of a local garage. On closer inspection, it turns out its a 1.8 LX. I had a general nosey about, and it seemed in good condition, it had Air con/ PAS, front electric windows etc etc.

Any problems I should look for?

And what would be a sensible price? its done 121k (cambelt was changed @ 100k) and its on an S plate. It was marked up at £1400.

cheers :)

Just had a spy on AT, seen some 98's for £1125 with 93k on the clock.

No idea what the Petrol engines are like but my x's dad used to run some 406 TD taxis and they did well over 300k with little problem.

The 406 executive is in the same "band" as the Mondeo but the Mondeo is just a better car (in petrol variant).

The V reg i linked to is damn cheap though, I would be a little suspect of the mileage but doesn't mean don't check it out.

Ive been a passenger and the 406 seemed like a very nice car to be in. Good space in the rear, well built and smooth.
That V reg looks too good to be true! worth a look :)

For that price i'd bet its 124k :) I mean who buys a 406 exec and then doesnt drive it, they are motorway cars.
