Hi guys i recently bought a 160gb external hard drive to transport my media betweeen computers, now i'm thinking of upgrading my motherboard from my tired Asus a8n sli-deluxe to a Dfi Expert.
I was wandering if i was to put all my important media files (movies, music, pictures, documents, etc) onto my external hard drive, when i reformatt my internal hard drive and install with my dfi board drivers and such on it will i then be able to transfer my external hard drive files onto this platform without it corrupting? or will there be a conflict with drivers?
I would have thought this would be ok as theoretically this is the whole point of external and portable hard drives is it not?

Thats what I do everytime I get new hardware.

I have a 2x 300 gigs for my data,mp3's,DVD's and pictures

My raptor for windows.
So its easy just to install windows on the raptor or if windows goes wrong.Or if I change mobo or anything

All my data is safe:) i just plug the 300 gig disks in and away we go.Media library in tact!

couldnt have it any other way.
