ok am getting new heatsink of member market to replace my cheapo one,

and im going to clean the cpu of the old artic silver with tim cleaner first and give the heatsink a goin over to,

then ive just read these instructions

http://www.arcticsilver.com/arctic_silver_instructions.htm because im bored

and it says for amd ie socket A that you only put it on the core for artic silver 5 and not the actual heatsink like i have always done ???????

which way do i do it does it make any difference, i normaly work out where the core will come into contact with cpu and put a pea sized blob and spread out with a old credit card

I've always done it the other way and put small blob os AS onto the core and spread it thinly over the top. Either way I am sure it won't make any diference, but mayeb it will
