Has anyone else noticed the poorness of the screen when playing back video you've put on the memory stick? It's like ghosting to the max, really ruins it

What I don't understand is, UMD Movies look perect :confused:

Ive noticed that on some videos too, and ive got a jap one with a sharp screen. You sure its not because of the video colours? Black ghosts horribly on a light background on the psp.

It's not aparent on UMD Movies though.

UMD movies ghost too, just something you have to get used to.

I read an explanation somewhere - it has to do with the fact that the PSP will only play back 30fps content and so when converting a "normal" source to an mp4 file extra frames have to be added in - this apparently makes the ghosting appear worse (not 100% sure if this is correct, though).

Sony crippled the default media playback - they want as many people as possible to waste a stupid amount of money on UMDs!

The psp can also play back 15fps.
