Corporate Messenger in Exchange 2003

We're looking to impliment some form of Corporate Messenger accross our network, which is something I know was possible in Exchange 2000, but I can't seem to find any documentation about it in Exchange 2003.

Is it still possible or has this functionality been moved out to SharePoint?

The functionality was removed from Exchange 2003. You want Live Communications Server.
