I built a new system including the titular component last week. Browsing the DFI website today I came across this little gem:

This symptom might occur in Windows 2000 SP4 and Windows XP based operating system. Windows 2000 SP4 and XP have supported USB2.0 device already, there is no need to install USB 2.0 driver from Lanparty Utility CD. This USB 2.0 driver is for Windows 98 only. If this driver is installed in Windows 2000 SP4 and XP, the USB 2.0 device will work at USB 1.1 instead. Please do not install USB 2.0 driver in Windows 2000 SP4 and XP. If this driver has been installed, there is no way to remove it, please reinstall operating system.
So...is this true? No way to uninstall this driver???
If this is true, and i need to reinstall windows, will i also have to:
Wipe my hard drive (consists of 2 partitions - 1 for windows, 1 for games)
Reinstall all motherboard drivers
Reinstall video drivers etc?
Anything else?
