Processor: Intel Pentium III, ~750MHz
Memory: 128MB RAM
Card name: ATI Mobility 128 AGP 2X (DELL)

Its old, its only been used to surfing the web wirelessly about the house.

But I think it deserves a good game to play, preferably stratagy (turnbased or realtime).

Any ideas :)?

No to all of those :D
By far the best strategy game ever made (IMHO :p ) has to be the Alpha Centauri Planetary Pack. After this, Starcraft & C&C seem tame- Just for starters, there are over 35,000 possible unit combinations to play with!

Not that I know of, and it could be on dubious legal ground anyway.

I agree with HangTime by the way, Civ 3 is the perfect laptop game :)

Streaming games would be a bad idea because the update rate would likely be very low (say 10fps). Theoretically you could probably play windowed games through VNC or something like that, but the poor update rate and increased latency on the mouse etc would kind of defeat the object.

Hence my post

Someone mentioned Civ 3 - I said that they'd need to get Civ 2 as Civ 3 won't run on that laptop

EDIT: Just seen your edit and now I can see why you thought that! Sorry, it wasn't clear! :)

EDIT2: Just seen your second edit. Those specs are a lot lower than I thought but in that case, yes it'll run

mame - an older version 0.86 maybe.

should work fine on that spec machine with many games but not the latest ones.
nice bit of retro arcade action, can't beat it.
