I think it's simple but I just can't seem to do it!

If six teenagers can gobble up 12 pizzas in an hour, how many
teenagers will it take to eat 6 pizzas in an hour and a half?

Any ideas?

I'm getting 1 and a half teenagers, thus I'd guess it's 2.

EDIT -> Yes the answer is 2. It was a moment of pure stupidity on my part, I tried to work it out using formulae that were not required, lol.

2 teenagers.

pretty simple stuff.

12 pizzas in 1 hour, so 6 pizzas in 1.5 hours is the equivalent of 4 pizzas per hour, which is 3 times less than 12 pizzas, so you divide 6 by 3 to get 2 teengers

I did this...

6 eat 12 in an hour

so 3 can eat 6 in an hour

they've got 50% more time so half again = 1.5

That right?

they dont have double the time, so you dont do the final divide by 2, you would multiply by 2/3

6 eat 12 in an hour
so 1 would eat 2 in an hour
ie it takes 1/2 hour for each person to eat a pizza
in an hour and a half each person can eat 3 pizzas
hence it will take 2 people to eat 6 in an hour and a half

Ok, six teenagers can eat twelve pizzas in an hour. So that's two pizzas per teenages, per hour.

Give one teenager an hour and a half, and they'll eat three pizzas.

We want enough teenagers to eat six pizzas in an hour and a half - so you'll need two.

Does this not depend on external influences factors such as :

size of pizzas
nationality of teenager
sex of teenager
type of toppings
thin crust / deep pan?
Stuffed crust?
distance of pizza shop from pizza eating venue
size of moped engine of pizza delivery boy

Then again, it's probably 2.

Probably matters more on the ethnicity of the teenagers, not the nationality. And Religion. Jews/Muslims can't have salami pizza, more for me :)
