Hi,

My chipset fan is about to die on me so i decided to get a new one. Anyway got the new on today but i cant seem to take out the stock fan. Ive got a asus a8n-sli deluxe mobo so if anyone know how to remove please let me know. There are two push pings on the side and no matter how much i pulled they wouldn't come out.

Thanks for the help

Take the motherboard out

Turn the motherboard around and locate the back of the push pins.

IMPORTANT- IF you have new pushpins then do this.

Ok now get some nail cutters, and just cut the bottom, the pins should click out.

Now just twist the cooler to get it loose a little, and clean the chipset :).

ok well the idea of taking out my mobo isnt too appealing to me..so another idea not sure would work but..i cut the top off of the pushpin and just push it through the mobo so it falls out from the other side...it sounds like a good idea but what do you guys think?

I've just had the joy of this on an old NF7 - I Ripped it off and snapped the motherboard in half, luckily it was the already broken board which snapped, with the other, i screwed it onto MB backplate, and used a screwdriver to snap the mounting clips.
