She's big, the case not the ex misis who's stood there with it.

33'' in height
8'' at the base and head
14'' at the shoulders
2mm thick
TIG wleled

Case i had built over 2 years ago, i had some nasty accident with my rididng so now i can get back on with it. Yay!!

Case has been with a mate to have some mod's done as in my over what ever the word be to get underway on it all i messed up the side where i'd mount the psu. So thnaks to Vinie he has done the following.

Cut out the 6'' side section that i messed up

Welded back in a plate as patch both inside and outside

Ground the weld's down on the out side so they look like there the rasised surface of the checker plate and flatish on the inside.

Spent a friday day highly polishing it as his new CNC mill was being fitted.

Cut down a 6mm thick plate of Iorn to use as weight in the bottom of the case to make her stable.

I'll get her back next weekend at last and can really get to work on her.

As for mounting the mobo and everything i came up with this idea.

Gutted an old case and took out the backing plate for the mobo backplate, pci, agp. Fact here is a pic so you know what the hell i'm on about.

Right so i'm now sorted on getting my GFZ, PCI (if any) and backplate all sitting right. What about mounting the mobo i hear you ask. This was hard, looked a tray out of the old case not easy so found these little things.

http://www.******.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=6383&criteria=Spacers&doy=4m2

I was thinking of getting the short ones, 9mm in height will be more than enough for safty and i have plenty of deepths in my case. I will use one for every mounting hole on my mobo. Yeah maybe overkill but this thing is gonna carb sheads loads of OMG so i want it to be rock solid, let along safe.

I also want to deck the inside of it all out in black foam. Okay why. Black is cool, once you've had black you never wana go back. Black is my fav color but also i think it'll look cool in there. Also it'll aded in making the system silent. Problem lies in getitng the stuff. Anyone able to give me some pointers here? No real need to pay out for the proper pc stuff. I just relised as i'm writing this topic i do have a house mate that makes top of the range beds so i shall ask him and see what he can nick from work. Meh this flu is taking it's toll on me big time.

Right cooling. She silent so water. Have the follwoing so far

Eheim 1048 pump. So far have 2 trying to sorce 1 more
Dtek LLWW P4 478, shall lap this thing up

I want to run the system with 3 inderpendant lopps. thus all on there own no confliting heat.

GFX > pump> rad
Nb > pump > rad
CPU >rad >pump > rad

Confused. Right this the plan stan. 1 single rad for the NB and 1 again for the GFX both with there own pumps. These will be 120mm rads.

CPU is intresting. 2 dual rads, ie: a quad. They will go just where the case goes upwards form the 14'' wide part of the shoulders section one dual rad ether side. I've no idea if i run these in parrel or serries yet but 4 will give my P4 a nice cool temp, 4GHZ on air i should get 4.2GHZ easy on water being a full 1GHZ OC.

Fan's, i've been looking and reading and i think some Silent x 120mm by 38mm will be used. 6 in total and there 14DBA each so nice and silent. Might use a fan controller or i might see if i can something made, like an auto temp job i duno yet.

PSU i'm still out of my leag on, How to fit it what to get. As ya can see it has to go at the base for many reason one being weight, also look in the right place.

Front of case is an 6mm thick bit of clear perspex i got off my boss from work. Was really chuffed as it was my 1st week there and i asked about soem stuff we had laying around and on the friday he said ''er are Pete, cheers mate'' guess that ment soemething like you've got the job and stuff as i'm still there. The dudes hard to read and all so i duno. Cool.

So i think thats it for now till i get case back and everything ordered. Please any ideas, tweak, mods surgestions anyhting come forward as i will need all the help going.

Pete

Edit: juts relised competiers links aint allowed. Sorry but i'm pretty sure you can work out which High st reatiler it is
