Whilst making a sandwich 15minutes or so ago I was thinking of major inventions.

A few which immediately came to me...

Lightbulb
TV
Telephone
Computer

It then dawned on me that I couldn't think of any real great inventions from say the last 20years.

Lots of discoveries have been made, scientific, mathematical and technological but no real NEW inventions, just improvements to old ones (mobile phones).

What inventions do you think changed the modern world?

Any you can think of from recent times?

Electricity is perhaps the most important discovery(/invention, in terms of its generation and storage) ever. Without it, we wouldnt be 1/10th as advanced as we are now.
