The 6800GS has 12 pipelines and the 7800GT has 20 aswell as have more vertex shaders the 6800GT is also better than the GS when at stock and the 7800 series is a newer generation but maybe someone could give more info about comparing them :p

My 7800GT in CSS on the video stress text with forced 8xAA 16xAF full HDR + Transparency AA at supersampling at 1680x1050 gets 115fps average

I've got the 7800GT from ocuk and it rattles along - got COD2 free with it and can play at max ressy with all goodies turned on and it runs a treat. Well worth it for £200 - can give you an actual comparing information but my gfx card overclocks nicely from the stock 450/1000 to 490/1180 which increases performance even more!

The 7800GT probably offers about 25-30% more performance in the most games. It seems to be much better value overall for the power you get compared to the 6800GS.

Posted this in a different thread, but once again I'd give my support to the 6800 GS. I overclocked it to 525/1225 and no artifacts AT ALL. Seriously the thing flies, gets nearly 6.5k in 3d Mark 05, that is 6800 ULTRA marks.

7800 GT is quicker but I can play everything I want to a max settings, good enough for me.
