Any one with ukonline 22mb service?

I was gonna sign up to that service 2 things put me off..
1 - you have to buy a router from them, its a DG834GT for £80 which is quite a bit more than you have to pay if you look around, I already own this router and didnt want the hassle of getting another and selling it at a loss on ebay
2- 12 month contract. This contract isnt like a regular one that most ISPS offer where if you cancel part way through you pay a fine of like £50, with ukonline you have to pay the full 12 months.

on the plus side I used to get very good download speeds with them - typically 1.4-1.6mb.
good pings for gaming too.
on the minus side - customer care is awful.
it's wrong of them to insist that the modem they have chosen is to be bought n used.
considering they used to give the Actiontec router away for free they should have made the netgeat one at least ½ price instead of £80.
or perhaps insist that it's leased and if you leave them then they would get it back or charge you £80 at that point.
