Will A8N-SLI Mobo Survive Without Chipset Fan?

Ok, the chipset fan died after 6 months which is a known problem, but even though I've been sent a replacement, I'm thinking about not bothering with it (as it seems the whole mobo needs yanking out to do this). I've come to the conclusion that a) the chipfan has a circle of heat conductor spikes around the fan itself which is keeping things cool, and b) my motherboard temperature never goes higher than 35*.

Is this a good sign that I needn't bother with a new chipfan, or are the few spikes that remain not enough?

I haven't had a working chipfan for over 7 months now btw.

HAHA ,

You know what thay say ... if it aint broke ...don't fix it .

On the other hand ... you could get a nice after market fan quite cheap .. It might save you in the long run .

LoL 7 months :)
