A friend of mine has just recently installed her ipod nano on her laptop, the problem is her CD drive has disappeared from my computer. In device manager a little yellow exclamation mark is next to it and in properties is says:

"Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device"

Have tried updating driver from packard bell website, roll back drive (which wouldnt work) and unistalling the ipod software but no luck. Using Win XP

Any ideas?

I've had this... It's to do with Roxio. Do a google search on the problem and you will find links to the microsoft website detailing how to remove the problems from the registry.

If you've not got roxio installed try removing the hardware and re-booting into safe mode and check the device status
