If you try you can stick a whole new rig for £650, that's including a 7800gt. I'd wait out and go PCI-E. That was about 4 weeks ago now too so you'll probably be able to get it around £550. I'd definitely go for a whole system overhaul. How long does it need to last?

will do at some point, not now however cuz I'm just as tired as you :D. Tomorrow if I get a chance.

:Edit: Sleep doesn't seem to be working atm and I can't find the exe to run it so I figured I'd do this now.

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice 90nm (Socket 939) - OEM
£89.95

Western Digital Caviar SE16 250GB 2500KS SATA-II 16MB
£64.25

Hiper HPU-4B580 Type R 580W Modular ATX2.2 PSU - Blue
£54.95

OcUK GeForce 7800GT 256MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail
£183.95

DFI LanParty UT NF4 Ultra-D (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard
£84.95
OcUK Value 1GB (2x512MB) PC3200 184pin DDR Memory Dual Channel Kit
£44.95
Subtotal £523.00
VAT £91.53
Total £614.53

So for £214 more you have a killer motherboard, a 3000+ to oc in it and a 7800gt.

I have recently (Today) swapped out my stuff and Watercoolin' into a 3D aurora. VERY nice case, although for anything but w/c it's probably a waste of money. Nice and blue. Green is good too, had my last loop green but didn't go with case :(. Can't really think of a particularly green case :\. You could always custom job it bright lime green :D

no my case is black it just has 2 blue bubble cathods going down the front of the case (external) and 3 blue led fans (internal) but i think a different black case would look good with a green interior Ie lights also with a uv cathode and was thinking alont the lines of this psu

CA-002-UX Ultra X-Connect 500W ATX2.0 Cable Detachable PSU - Black with UV Green (CA-002-UX)
£54.95 £54.95
Subtotal £54.95
VAT £9.62
Total £64.57

let me know if you know anything about these psu's

Don't have a clue about those PSU's, but watercooling certainly isn't for the faint hearted. Admittedly it's taken a lot longer than it should have but me and Chris1712 just spent the past 30 hours on my PC and waterloop taking it out, flushing it, refilling it and making sure no leaks were present. This was the first refill however, so the next will be a lot quicker. Overall however water has been great, not only due to the HUGE novelty factor but the near silence it's brought to my rig. If you're going water I strongly recommend the Swiftech kit in the clearance section for <£100 IIRC. I think it even comes with green coolant :D

Dual core, well it depends what you're going to be doing :\. Some games claim to have proper support for it but tbh I doubt we'll see any proper utilisation of both cores until the get the second revision of the chips - in reaction to software development.

If you do a lot of things at the same time like recording two TV channels, downloading through torrent, running virus scans and playing video then it'll probably make quite a nice difference.

Games however are likely to go more or less unaffected until the second revision under AM2 or whatever comes after it.

God knows. Have a look for what that sort of thing is selling for, then work out how much you need to get for it to finance the new rig. Try to set the reserve just a little lower than the selling price some go for. That way, it may take you 5 or 6 times to sell @ a few pence each time but you'll get a better price for it in the end.

If £700 is not feasible soon then I'd probably spend less on the HDD and graphics but stil go PCI-E and AMD64. An x850xt can be had here for ~£150, a cheaper mobo might do (You could always buy the AsRock AGP AND PCI-E motherboard, but ask someone else about that), and you could spend less on the HDD. This would mean you have spent only about £500, yet have stepped into performance territory. With the ASRock agp+pci-e mobo you could even use your existing 9800pro until you have enough for a really decent card.
