I'm about to buy one of these two monitors, they seem virtually identical in spec, but the Samsung is round £50 cheaper.

Is there any *real* difference between the two?

Chances are you'd not notice any difference, I beleive Viewsonic has a better dead pixel policy and I've heard Samsungs customer service isn't too hot but £50 is a fair saving. The VX922 is the latest version of the VX924 and is arguably better than the BF but again whether you'd notice the difference is debateable. Depends on whether your more technology concious or wallet conscious :D

i doubt that you would noticed much, if any, difference between the two tbh, both very similar screens. The VX922 is said to have slightly better movie playback due to a more evenly controlled overdrive application, but probably nothing noticable to the average user. Samsung have done a good job keeping the price down on the 930BF and imo it has a better design too
