Did anyone see this documentary last night?
I find it absolutely disgusting that his wife was cleared of wounding. I would like to ask the judge, in what instance would it be acceptable for a husband to cut of his wife's breasts or mutilate her genitals with a kitchen knife?
That jury bascally said that it was perfectly ok to mutilate someone if they deserved it - however, I suspect this would not apply if the victim is female.
Ok, he made a bit of money out of it but that's not the point.

In that case I should have Sky/freeview. Which I don't. I was only watching TV because my internet (or should I say my neighbours internet) wasn't working, I never watch TV otherwise. He got found not guilty first and then she gets a not guilty. What a joke.

apparently he abused her, and has abbused subsiquent wives. Thus the Jury found her not guilty based upon the mental anguish he caused. She was sent to a mental hospital though.

IMO thats no excuse. She should have been sent away for much longer. Stabing him is one thing choping bits off is a completely different matter. I don't care if its a finger penis or head, removal of appendages is wrong (unless for medical or religios reasons and the owner of said appendages has consented to their removal). Not only did she cut it off she drove down the road and lobbed it out of the car window. She knew what she was doing and the impact it would have. It was a mallisions, cold blooded and cruel attack.

i've always thought that it was a case of double standards - if a man sexually mutilated a woman then they would definitely get 20 years or more in jail (in the US), but she hardly got anything and was on talk shows and stuff, like it was a big joke - ridiculous
