help guys beeping x1800xt

guys got a email from a friend he has a x1800xt temp at idle is 45 c

here is the problem run cs and the card beeps long beep the of and another long one

run the clock checker thingy in ccc same thing

temps of gfx dont seem to rise much about 10 c

any ideas ?

is that supposed to read "the card beeps long beep then off and another long one"?

if so im very surprised as the cards dont have speakers sounds like his mobo

if you let it boot and do not run a 3d app its ok for hours

the beep is more like a squeak


the instant you start a game or 3d app this long squeak starts (30 sec) stops for 9 5sec ) then repeats

its the same when you try the auto clock thing in CCC

listened to it over the phone

the game plays fine though

Read somewhere, might of been here or over at Rage3d that some X1800XT's made a squeeling sound.

well i have to go over to have a look see the card has been in the pc for a while but has been transported , guess it a pull out and reseat things , it will be somthing daft i just know it

it runs normaly but makes a noise in 3d , i am wondering if the pci power lead is not in correctly
